It is much easier to prevent burn-out then to treat it.

Most important for preventing burn-out is awareness:

  • recognize the symptoms for burn-out
  • realize that you have limited amount of resources and energy
  • be aware of your physical and mental health. Remember that if you have been tired and worn out for a long time, you can perceive this state as ”normal”
  • do something about factors and situations that is stressful and make you worn-down and worried

Other preventive actions are:

  • better balance in your rest, recreation, and career to avoid over-consumption of your resources and energy
  • sufficient sleep and recreation
  • regularly physical activity
  • eat healthy
  • deal with your problems and conflicts in life – worries don’t solve anything
