Prolonged restitution Print E-mail

“Burn-out is a physical and mental state you turn into by exploiting your body ruthlessly until all resources and energy more or less is consumed, and the body can not recover without prolonged restitution and other necessary actions”.

The time you need to fully recover from burn-out, depends on:

  • how burnt out you are
  • how long time the ruthless exploitation has taken place
  • general state of health
  • the quality of the restitution
  • actions and changes carried out in order to recuperate

If you are burned out, it takes at least a half a year with more or less 100 % sick leave to recover. Usually it takes a couple of years. If it takes shorter time, it means:

  • you was not suffering from burn-out in the first place and you managed to stop in time
  • or you have not used sufficient time to recover

If you start working too early, you will have less accessible resources and energy to spend and the body is extra vulnerable to strain. You can therefore easier become burned out again, and it’s more likely that this burn-out will be more severe than the former one.
